The natural manufacturing process for these insoles has not changed since the Egyptians developed it. Dating back to ancient Egypt, this vegetable tanning technique transforms a raw skin into a supple, strong and rotproof material called "leather" by soaking the skins in containers with tannins extracted from oak, birch, willow, mimosa or exotic wood bark which adds resistance against parasites.
In addition the tanning process gives a pleasant leather smell and helps the insoles acquire an elegant patina during their long life.
